Mission:
The mission of the Oconee County Utility Department is to
provide potable water in a quality and quantity that meets the needs
of our residential and commercial customers and to provide the
treatment of wastewater for commercial, institutional and industrial
customers.
Primary Responsibilities: Continual monitoring and
treatment of water and wastewater by State Certified Operators;
Maintenance of all treatment, distribution and collection facilities
and equipment; Response to citizen requests and grievances when
required; Preparation of department's budget; Preparation and
submission of all required reports to Georgia EPD, EPA; Issuance of
yearly Consumer Confidence Report; Maintenance of Utility records as
required by county, state and federal governments; Performance of
all financial duties related to Utility Department Operations; and
Analysis of the county's water and wastewater needs and provision of
alternatives to meet those needs.
