Hatha Yoga

Integral Yoga is a graceful blend of postures, breath and meditation. It is an ideal tool for becoming more comfortable and relaxed in the body and increasing flexibility and muscle tone. Integral Hatha Yoga classes guide the student to go gently inward and experience the effects of the posture.  Scientific studies have shown that a regular yoga practice can decrease stress and relieve anxiety and depression; lowers blood pressure thus improving heart health; helps to reduce inflammation and chronic pain. Additionally yoga improves balance and promotes sleep quality.  These are just a few of the benefits yoga has to offer.  

Classes are never competitive. Silence, acceptance and awareness are used to relax the body and calm the mind.  Accessible to most - students should be able to get up and down from the floor. If you are pregnant this is not the class for you. This class is perfect for beginners as well as more experienced yogis.  Celia Brooks has more than 12 years of experience teaching Basic and Intermediate Levels Integral Hatha Yoga. Please bring a yoga mat and firm blanket. Straps and blocks are available in the classroom.

Participants should provide their own yoga mat and 1 – 2 firm blankets.

 Current Yoga Class offerings: 
Join us as we move Yoga outside in April!  We will meet at Veterans Field (grass field between the Veterans Memorial and the Senior Center).  Participants should bring a beach towel to cover yoga mat.  During inclement weather, we will move Yoga into the Community Center.
