October 5 BOC Meeting Highlights

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. The following actions were taken at the meeting:

  • Announcements: 
    • The Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointments to the Oconee County Farmland Preservation Ranking Committee, Oconee County Library Advisory Board,Board of Elections & Registration, and Oconee River Resource Conservation and Development Council Board; the deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 9, at noon
    • The Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax vote will take place on Tuesday, November 2
  • Presented a proclamation recognizing National 4­-H Week and Master 4­-H Award winners
  • Presented a proclamation recognizing Oconee Lions Club 50th Anniversary Week 
  • Held Public Hearing regarding Jennings Mill Extension Rights-­of­-Way Abandonment, and approved the rights-of-way abandonment
  • Adopted the Update to the Northeast Georgia Solid Waste Management Plan 
  • Approved Contract Manager at Risk RFQ/RFP Award for Administrative Building Construction to Mathias Corporation
  • Approved RFP #22-­08-­002 Collection and Disposal of Recyclable Materials; awarded annual contract to Roll-Off Systems. Inc.
