The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. 

The following actions were taken at the meeting:

  • Announcements
    • The next Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16, at 6 p.m. at Oconee County Civic Center; the meeting is open for in-person attendance and virtual attendance via Zoom
  • Approved with conditions Rezone/OIP #P22-0184 for Westminster Christian Academy from B1 (General Business District), R1 (Single Family Residential District), and AG (Agricultural District) to OIP (Office Industrial Professional District) ; ± 5.5 acres; 1185 S. Bishop Farms Parkway; Vacant
  • Approved with conditions Rezone/AG #P22-0185 for Westminster Christian Academy from B1 (General Business District), R1 (Single Family Residential District), and AG (Agricultural District) to OIP (Office Industrial Professional District); ± 37.87 acres; 1640 New High Shoals Road; Vacant
  • Approved with conditions Special Use #P22-0154 for Westminster Christian Academy to expand the campus in the newly acquired site and revise the Special Use Permit on the existing campus; ± 43.42 acres; 1640 New High Shoals Road; Private School 
  • Approved with conditions Special Use #P22-0176 for Fred Simonton III to develop a cell phone tower in the AG (Agricultural District) zoning district; ± 0.3306 acres; Fambrough Bridge Road; Vacant 
  • Approved with conditions Rezone #P22-0177 for Westminster Presbyterian Homes Inc. from AR (Agricultural Residential District) to OIP (Office Industrial Professional District); ± 4 acres; 1030 Welbrook Road; Vacant
  • Approved with one condition Variance #P22-0208 for Westminster Presbyterian Homes Inc. to reduce the required buffer from 25' to 0' adjacent to AR (Agricultural Residential District) property; ± 3.84 acres; 1030 Welbrook Road; Vacant
  • Approved with one condition Variance #P22-0219 for Henry J & Sandra Thompson to develop a shed roof from UDC Section 410.01.c (2) and UDC Table 4.1; ± 0.89 acres; 1171 Windsor Drive; Residential
  • Approved amendments to the Oconee County Alcohol Ordinance 
  • Approved Oconee Veterans Park Gym HVAC replacement
  • Approved amendments to budget for the issuance of FY22 Financial Statements 
  • Approved FY23 budget amendments for Parks and Recreation 
  • Approved a change order for design of Calls Creek WRF upgrade to 3 MGD 
  • Approved the GEFA loan for construction of Calls Creek WRF upgrade to 3 MGD 
  • Approved the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission FY23 Aging Services Contract
