The State of Georgia requires local governments to submit annual audited financial statements to the State Auditor. This process ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Oconee County is audited annually by an outside auditing firm. The FY16 audit was completed by Treadwell, Tamplin & Co., LLP.
